So I'm cooking and waiting for Rob to get home from work; that's the reason for all the tube action. Anyway, I'm watching BBC America, because nothing else appeals, and I find this--a little thing called Goodness Gracious Me. Awesome. And amazing that you can have a show like this in England circa 1998, yet I can't foresee anything like this in the U.S. in even ten years. Even Margaret Cho's show wasn't successful.

The term "aqua fortis" was the alchemical nomenclature for nitric acid, a necessary component in etching onto zinc plates for intaglio printmaking. I now use copper plates and ferric chloride almost exclusively, as they are much less toxic, but I still like the sound of "aqua fortis."

Have you ever watched The Kumars at No. 42? It's not exactly the same at this -- this seems like a 'The Kids in the Hall' meets one of those really funny Latino comedies that was so short-lived in the 90's. Very interesting. I love watching BBC imports... you never really know what you're going to run across.
I have--in fact, I found out that the same producer/writer was involved with both of those shows as well as the BBC original version of The Office (which is one of my favorites!). Kumars, though, was a little too goofy for me.
Yeah... the Kumars are a bit much...
